About the event
The Color Experience is a guided painting class that couples emotional wellness and creative wellness.
Color experience refers to the subjective experience of perceiving colors. When we see an object, the light that reflects off of it enters our eyes and is processed by our brain to create the experience of color. However, different people may perceive colors differently based on factors such as genetics, cultural background, and individual variations in perception.
The perception of color can also be influenced by surrounding colors, lighting conditions, and other contextual factors. For example, a blue object may appear more greenish in color if it is placed next to a yellow object. Similarly, the same color may appear different under different types of lighting, such as natural daylight versus artificial light.
Color experience is also influenced by emotional and psychological factors. Different colors are associated with different moods and emotions, such as red being associated with excitement and passion, while blue is associated with calmness and tranquility.
During this two hour curated experience, we will explore how we perceive color, what effect it has on our mood and emotions, how we store memories with color and how to use color to suggest a mood or emotion in the future.
